Peter Goudion’s Blues Express after a great reception last year is returning. This brilliant group contains some of the most sought after musos in Australia, namely Peter Gaudion on trumpet and vocals who has played with The Syncopators since day one. Ash Gaudion on alto sax and vocals. Ash is a charismatic and talented musician who has been immersed in the world of jazz and blues from a young age. His passion for music shines through in his soulful saxophone playing and captivating vocals. Bob Sedergreen on keyboards. Bob has been described as the world’s best blues pianist. His musical abilities find him leading and working with a plethora of diverse ensembles and groups. Also Bob is a prolific writer of jazz tunes. James Clark on bass. James plays bass with The Syncopators and Shuffle Club and he is much sought after for gigs. Rod Gilbert on drums. Rod is a regular drummer with the Syncopators and Shuffle club. 16th March - Caught In The Act
Caught In The Act is an instrumental band playing a wide range of music: from exciting Latin tunes and jazz-funk (fusion) adaptations of standards to gentle songs from the 30s. They last performed in 2022 and we look forward to their return.
Caught In The Act! was formed by Ann & Kevin in 2016 to feature the flute playing exciting instrumental music. The concept rapidly broadened to incorporate saxophone so you’ll hear sax and flute featuring in many tunes, strong piano and guitar interplay all held together by an outstanding rhythm section including some brilliant bass lines. But, most of all, we have fun so we hope that you will share in our joy and enthusiasm.
They have played at many regional jazz festivals, at the Brunswick Green, private gigs, at the Australian Jazz Convention and each month at Jazz on Sundays at the Ringwood RSL.
Their line-up comprises Ann Craig (flute/percussion), Ashley Thomas (sax/clarinet), Kevin Blazé (guitar), Malcolm Hornby (piano), Frank Morgan (bass) & Simon Atkinson (drums).
