15th June 2025
 Graeme Pender Grenadilla Wood

Picture
The name of the band Grenadilla Wood comes from the “Grenadilla Wood (Dalbergia Melanoxylon) from  Mozambique. This type of wood has been used since the end of the 19th  century the beginning of the 20th century, and is quite possibly the most  popular wood used in the making of clarinets. Last year Ashton Vas played the  clarinet and boy was he great and we are hoping that Ashton will play the clarinet in June for a couple of tunes.
Performing in Grendilla Wood are Graeme Pender on clarinet, Frank Carter on trombone, Peter Hooper on banjo, Peter McIntyre on sousaphone and Graham Michel on drums. and we all remember the very talented Ashton Vaz who played on piano and yes it will be great to see Aston performing once again.
